Mental and Moral Changes from Alcohol Abuse

Indulgence in alcohol brings a very powerful change in one’s persona. Often appalling, the power of alcohol abuse can affect everyone, regardless of age, sex or religion. Crimes are committed as a result of dependency on alcohol. Not only that, mental health is also affected which changes a person’s overall perspective in life. Alcohol damages his moral intellect as well.

Too much alcohol intake poisons the brain which makes it react very unusual and gives signals which are interpreted differently by the body. This is more commonly known as homicidal mania or the uncontrollable desire to hurt some one. Under the influence of alcohol, the brain is being poisoned. It is stimulated in a way that leaves the person with no better judgment of the things he is doing.

Mental clearness is also affected with alcohol abuse. People who have taken even a glass of wine or beer can attest that they have sudden feelings of boldness in their actions which leads to many accidents or crimes – kleptomania or more violent ones. They are over empowered by the effects of alcohol.

These are true facets of alcohol abuse and it is important to guide those who have already fallen into the trap of alcoholism.
